Honduras 75% 2018 Bean to Bar Chocolate

The beans are organic. They come from a remote part of Honduras (two days by canoe) where there are simply no chemicals and they have never been used. In addition, these were shipped in and through customs with no fumigation.
Biosphere who is making these beans possible, is alleviating most if not all of the farmers’ concerns by paying up front for raw beans the same price they would get for fermented beans in port, but without two day’s travel. Biosphere buy anything from 1 lb to 700+lbs from individual growers. They are committed to the area and the farmers for the long haul.  This is a win/win situation. Biosphere pay cash on the spot and give technical assistance which has reduced almost to nothing the % of B class beans that the producers sell.  Biosphere make advances against production, with no interest charges.  This means that farmers can depend on not having their time and energy wasted.

All of our chocolate is made with just cocoa beans and sugar; no added cocoa butter, lecithin, or vanilla. Our chocolate is free of soy, dairy, eggs, and gluten.
